An isolated Neck Lift may be performed in some patients where most of the changes are below the chin. A small incision is made behind the chin prominence, and may be made in conjunction with traditional behind the ear incisions to maximize correction.
In selected cases it is possible to improve neck definition with a minimally invasive suture method limiting the incision behind the ear. This technique can be combined with liposuction in patients with localised neck fat excess.
In patients that have lost tone at the jawline and around the corners of the mouth the neck lift is combined with attention to those areas. The skin excess needs to be addressed and this requires the extension of skin incisions around the ear lobe and vertically at the anatomical boundaries of the ear.
